AHHH!! This is so frustrating.

I have no idea whats causing this, I've tried everything. Smitfraud, AVG, and AdAware all come up clean. tried doing a system restore, still boots to just the desktop. I can access programs through my task manager, but all my other basic functions are gone.

explorer.exe loads at startup, but shut's itself down before AVG or anything else can load. I've never seen anything like this.

If anyone could help, I'd forever be indebted!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still not sure what caused the issue, but I ran a program called 'ComboFix' and it got an assload of issues out of my registry, alot of malware and spyware, and other things AVG, RegCure, and AdAware didn't pick up on. I suggest everyone run this program. It's free and it works for alot of messed up issues.

I just re formatted my wifes PC for the same issues. Whatever was in there shut off all services and I could not even run them from DOS by booting straight into the command prompt. Whatever it was took over the whole damn system and shut everything down. Funny enough though it would let Spybot and AdAware run but not HiJackthis or AVG.

I'll take a look at ComboFix though as I'm sure the boyz will get whatever the wife got as they use both boxes.
