I'm using 2.0. In the "Settings" I DO NOT have the "Save Peak Cache" box checked and yet it continues to save .pk files. Anyone know why this happens?

Thank you. That's a link to one of my old threads on the same subject. I did what was suggested at the time of that thread and the .pk files still end up in my folders, hence this new thread.

Thanks anyway, Keith.

No apology necessary. The effort is still appreciated.

In the biz, we call that a stuck thingamabob.

You could try this:

1. Uninstall Cool Edit.

2. There will probably be some remnants of the program. Delete all remaining Syntrillium and Cool Edit folders in your Program Files, or wherever you installed it. Run a registry cleaner if possible.

3. Reinstall CE, then be sure the Save Peak Cache Files box is unchecked before you record anything.

That’s all I got. I hope it works for you.
