don't laugh, i'm fairly new at this, and i was wondering if it was possible to run the source (mics, keyboards, etc.) into the Mark III 12 channel mixing board and then take a patch cord, and go from there into each individual track? in other words take a mic plug it into channel 1 of the mixer, and then take a 1/4" jack and go from either post or pre send for that channel and go into track 1 on the MD8? if it's possible which do i use, post or pre send? any help would be greatly appreciated!! also was wondering what would be the proper way of tying all of my equipment together to record?
equipment i have is:
YAMAHA MD8 8 TRK. DIGITAL RECORDER
PEAVEY MARK III SERIES 12 CHANNEL MIXER
PEAVEY M-2600 MARK V STEREO POWER AMP
(DON'T HAVE ANY MONITORS YET, HOPING TO GET SOME TANNOY NEARFIELDS)
BEHRINGER DSP1024P VITUALIZER PRO (EFFECTS)
BEHRINGER MDX2200 COMPOSER PRO (2 CHANNEL COMPRESSOR) would a patch bay be any help?
any suggestions are welcome!!! also any suggestions on any books or articles on this subject would be appreciated!! thanks fabfour1257
