I am new.So forgive me if this is a double post.My first attempt did not go on to the forum.

I see that many of you folk feel mixers are redundant but HEY! I've got one.(Yamaha O19V)

I am used to the mixer format and I have 3 rooms in the studio so need the outs for fold backs headfones etc.

I am installing a whole studio and I am not that clever with the DAW/Interface way of doing things. My last studio was Tape/MIDI.(Now stop that laughing I did some good stuff !)

So can anyone tell me how to get the Mac (G5) to even recognize it? How about getting Logic Pro 7 to have the mixer control the mix perameters?
Oh and how do I get the damn MOTU 896 to stop trying to do just everything?

In others words....HELP !

I'm not so sure myself, but I would say MIDI out from 01v to MOTU 896 (not sure if this has MIDI actually....), then in a devices or similar menu in logic set up your 01V as a MIDI device and if there is no preset set up control functions for faders pan shuttle etc.

Then ADAT in & outs from 01v to 896.

Thats how I'd do it in cubase anyway.

Hope someone else can shed a bit more light, and welcome to HRC!
