Hey guys, didnt get around to thankin everyone for their input when i first got my kb37, but yeah in the end i figured out how to use Gearbox, still kind of teed they make u pay for the plugin but ohwell.

Now i have some newer questions, more general hopefully. I made a small vocal space in the next room to my computer room and im going to do a bunch of stuff alone. I want to use my kb37's shuttle buttons in Cubase SX3 but i cant seem to find out how to set them up. In ableton i can just click and press and it sets up but im still a bit confused about it in cubase. I need the play and record button so that i can control my DAW from the other room and not have to run back and forth while recording.

Also, to do this im going to have to get a longer USB cable so i can drag my line 6 into the next room from my computer. How long can these cables get before not working? Theres a place near my house that sells them almost 10 meters (which is really long) but i dont nkow if that will kill the signal back to the computer.

Also btw, i posted about self building a vocal booth a long while back. I think Noize said he saw some plans somewhere but never got back to me. Its cool, were all busy ppl, but does anyone have any input on that? the room i use now is just a smaller enclosure to keep unwanted sounds out, but i was wondering if there were any details i needed, like acoustic foam to shape the sound in the booth and wat not.

Thanx

A USB cable can be pretty long and still usable. I have a 20 foot cable on my printer and it seems to work just fine.

As for the button learning in Cubase. I am thinking it is similar to Sonar in that there should be a learn function or something that you will need to use. Like right click on the record and play buttons to bring up a sub-menu.

Didn't want to do another post to get on peoples nerves, so im gonna put another question here for now.

So i got a generic 10 meter (20 ft?) USB cable and well.. it doesnt seem to work with my line 6. plugged it into the same USB port and everything, the computer somehow see it as a mouse... and it wont turn on, the clip lights jsut keep flashing. I thought it didnt work with hubs.. does a generic long cable count as a hub??? or is this one of those propietary things?
hopefully its fixable, i dont want to waste money on another cable... especially coz im guessing an actual line 6 one would cost way more than this one.

My POD xt is connected with an extension cable and a regular 6 foot cable. Both are regular store bought cables and it works just fine. My UX-2 is also connected with a simple store bought USB cable and it works just fine as well.

I am guessing you got a bunk cable or something. IF that doesn't do it maybe try re-installing the latest drivers.
