Two New Entires For Perusal

Two recordings, the first my only MIDI experiment (referred to here recently but now posted). An 8 track (drums, bass, piano, strings, koto, triangle, trumpets and organ), 8 bar clip looped and each track added then subtracted one at a time. Done on a Korg 1 and a MAC Classic. The computer to tape recording showed on the LED's as being correct volume, but the resulting cassette tape was 80% hiss and 20% music. This is as good a digital restoration as I can do, so yes, it is muffled and lacking highs, with reason. :)

The second is an original (not about my wife! Just fiction, dear)recorded in 1979 with again no redeeming recording value, just a song.

I'll try and get at listening tomorrow evening. As usual I'm trying to play catch up.

I'm stoked to hear the midi one for sure, but both will kick I am certain.

Don't be too certain! :)

I was unable to get dsl at home after all (they sold it to me and sent me the equipment...then tell me I am -50- flickin feet to far out to get it). I had hoped to have it by now so I could download/stream a lot more stuff and listen to other's music. I can d/l a bit at work but I can't listen until I'm home.

So I feel a bit useless as to giving any thumbs up for people making good but unheard music who just want a bit of fresh ear perspective.

Da midi piece was interesting to listen to for sure. The Korg had some pretty good sounds really. I liked the way stuff came and went, woulda made a good dance piece back in the day. Thanx for putting that one up. I tried to download it but am getting an error page so I'll try again later.

The second song, (not about your wife) was interesting as well. I liked the guitar sound, crispy twelve string or??? Nice arrangement on that one as well. And an interesting sound with the vocal. You got it to sound pretty good really.

Sorry to hear about the DSL thing though, that sucks. Did they say whether they will eventually get you hooked up or not?

As to dsl they say gee, in 5 years we'll have fiber optic. I'm more hoping for the FCC to allow the 700 Mhz bandwidth not to be auctioned to the phone companies for profit but for unlimited internet access anywhere. Of course, that's not how this guvment runs.

Thanks...yes, my main instrument for years has been my 12 string, and I probably doubled it as well. I had to do a lot of digital cleaning on that one.

The MIDI was pretty elementary, the teacher dropped out before I did so I never finished, plus I had none of the equipment anyway. Just enough to get my feet wet.
