Sampling handbells

I have recorded individual high quality wav files for each of a set of 36 handbells. They are a 3 octave fully chromatic set from middle C but without the low C#.
I have then editted the files to ensure a precise start. I also have a simple MidiSmart 37 key C-C keyboard and would like to assign each bells to a key so that arrangements for tunes can be accurately tried out without having the whole team present. One suggestion has been to use a percussion program which allows a different sound for each key but that still leaves me with a problem.
Problem: Although I have recorded digital audio for many years, I know nothing at all about sampling or the midi system.
Can somebody please advise?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Pete. Well having the controller keyboard is a good start. A percussion program is a good idea but there are some better sampler type players out there and even free ones. I suggest heading over to KVR and having a look there first off. Here is a page to start from . www.kvraudio.com/get.php?...t=1&rpp=100 There are many free ones here that will allow you to simply drag a wav file in to an assigned note number and then play it back via midi.

As for the midi part you simply need to get the keyboard connected to the PC via a midi interface. That keyboard might possibly have a USB interface already built in. If not then you will need a simple one in one out single port midi interface.
