Hello, i'm a norwegian guy who exchanged a lexicon multieffect into a delta 1010lt soundcard.

When i had it all set up, there was NO INPUT SIGNAL.

No moving meters on the computer-mixer or anything.

I am using Cubase SX and running Windows XP Professional.

But the output signal works fine, on the mixers meters too.

I have tried line-ins and the microphonepreamps, but no signal.

I really feel for a recording session real soon, so, somebody PLEASE HELP ME!

Hey there Vask, welcome to HRC.

First things first, what microphone?

Is it dynamic, condensor, ribbon?

are you using a preamp? a mixer? something else?

are the cables good, do they work with other devices and microphones.

how are you connecting to the 1010lt? using the preamps onboard the 1010lt, are you using line inputs?

if preamp or mixer, is there any signal getting to the preamp? signal lights? meters moving? gain turned up?, etc.

If yes, then inside of the delta control panel, are the input meters moving for that channel? digital gain up?

are you using windows? MAC? (does sx3 work on a mac?)

let's get a few of those out and we'll see what's next

1. Generis ADK condenser into the mic.preamp.
2. i'm only using the mixer on the computer, nothing exept that.
3. the cables are good and I have tried some microphones and line-ins.
4. I'm connecting the instruments to the line-ins and the microphone-preamps and, no, there are no meters moving at the input in the computer mixer.
5. I'm using Windows xp professional, do not know if Cubase SX 3 works on mac.
THANK YOU!:)

About the only thing I can think of is that you may not be using phantom power which is necessary for the condensors.

I had tried line-ins as well.. no sound on them either.

Do you mean the jumpers?

I haven't checked those yet.. maybe that's it.. but, do anybody know a link to a website with a picture or something with the right jumpers?

Thank you.

well, a condenser mic will need phantom power, which the preamp on the 1010lt does not have. You'll need to find another solution for that bit.

You can use dynamic mics without problem. common example of that would be the sure sm58 and sm57. both been around for years, and are used a ton.

you plugged instruments into the line in, and there was no movement on the meters? that's odd. There should be meters moving when you play.

While I think there are jumpers on the 1010lt, for consumer/ pro settings, I never had to change them. It worked right away. I always used a mixer as preamps before sending signal into the 1010lt, though.

I would try this: get something that puts out line level signal, like a stereo component line out, or VCR audio out. Those are most likely RCA jacks. Plus, you are probably sure that they work, sending out signal. Plug the line out, or audio out into 2 inputs on the 1010lt. You should be able to see meters moving when playing something from the device.

You are plugging into the inputs, and not the outputs on the 1010lt, right? =)

Another thought, go into the windows sound applet: start -> control panel -> sound and audio devices. Click on the audio tab, and select your 1010lt for the playback and recording devices. I can't remember if that's required, but it might ;/.

Then go into the volume button under the playback and recording devices, and make sure everything looks correct in there. I can't remember what specifically, but it should be easy to figure out.

If the line level into your card doesn't make any difference, then I'm kinda stumped after that. possible the card is bad, but a little more possible is there's a switch in software, or a combination of changes that need to be made. I can't remember, and I don't have the card anymore, so I'm getting foggy on remembering.

i have a mic that has phantompower trough a battery inside AKG SA43, so.. i can try that out..
for the line/in issue, i have used a jackplug from the guitar amps line out and into the 'inputs' on the cable connector, with mono-plugs or what it is called.
so.. i can try things out and say how it goes..
thanks for all the help so far. =)
