Well, I use Magix 2005, the earlier version
of 11, and it works great. I have 11 too,
though I don't use it right now, even though
it's better than 2005. Why don't I use it?
Because there are some problems with compati-
bility; I'm right in the middle of recording tracks for a CD, and I think the only way to
use 11, with its 24-bit resolution, would be
to re-record my tracks, and that ain't happening.
You should have no problems with 11, though.
I know you are just getting started with recording, so open up the program, and try it
out--that's what I did, and believe me, I knew
nothing about any DAW. The program comes with
a simple start up guide for first-time recorders.
It's in the manual, and it is helpful. In the
meantime, get a cheap condenser mic (Behringer
or MXR (?), cables, and a couple of dynamic
mics (sm 57, etc.) I think in another post
I mentioned the soundcard--get the best one you can--I use an E-mu 0404 with Magix 2005, and I'm
getting great results. (Check out my gear list
in profile.
