Hi, does anyone know what type of footswitch the Tascam 424MkIII uses for the remote punch-in? I was thinking of building my own - it looks like just a simple momentary switch - but is it 'push to make' or 'push to break'? And does it simply short the two wires together (I can't see what else it can do - doesn't appear to have a battery or mains lead)
thanks
Peter

That's pretty much it . I've used an amps reverb switchs and channel switches, as well for a punch-in/out switch, both with good results . Some switches activate the punch in/out on the step-down, others on the release, though .
