If you love infrasonic frequencies, and want to dedicate your attic or basement to the dream, you should check this out.

Here's a YouTube clip of it -

OK, that is a little outa my price range. I wanna see one work before I believe it. The theory is good but I'm not sure that little sucker is big enough to generate that kind of audio output.

The thing is driven by what looks like a 1/2 horsepower motor, constantly running at 800 RPM, that drives a fan. The motor is cued by input from an audio signal, which alters the pitch of the fan blades to change the frequency of the infrasonic wave. Quite fascinating.

It seems you have to have a dedicated room next to your main listening area that acts as a type of resonant sound chamber, and cut a sizeable hole in it for the fan to work its magic. It's a novel idea for sure, but after a while, 5 hertz would become tiresome, and possibly cure your constipation!

On the topic, did you see the Mythbusters episode where they made a super-subwoofer connected to a car's drive shaft? I never laughed so hard.

Hue, I did see that one, several time actually. I as well as the boyz laughed our collective butts off. but they did generate a killer sound wave which is what they were after. I think if they had actually invested a bit more time in the speaker itself and built it slightly more durable and sealed that sun roof up they surely would have blown the windows or at least one out. And they guy running the test equipment did state he had never seen anything generate that many dB's at that frequency before, so they did accomplish something.

But ya, I agree on the low frequency thing for sure. I know with the 15's in the large speaker's in here I can generate some pretty low tonege with the synths and they will reproduce it very well. But I definitely cannot sit in it for long.
