AUDIO SYNC ISSUES!!!

Hello,

I hope you guys can help. Here's the thing.....

I'm running SONAR 4 Prdcer Edition on a P4 2.8, 512 ram Toshiba Laptop, and a USB Sound Blaster Sound card. It was working Excellent for the longest time!! Recently, I had to fully restore my laptop and re-install SONAR. I've call tech support, but they weren't much help and I was holding for, like, ever!!

I'm trying to mix audio with Midi. I'll record a vocal track over my song, and when I play back, the wav audio starts on time, but a few measures later, you realize that it's way off!! The wav audio is slower!!! grrrrr. it's annoying.

I've done the Wave Profiler, I made sure that I'm consistant with my bit rates (44.1/16), The clock is set to Audio (as suggested by the profiler)... and from there... I have now clue!! I never had this problem before... Could it be my sound card? Is it Sonar? Is it my settings?

Have anyone else had this issue before!??! Where the Audio did not sync up with the midi!?!? I'd appreciate any feedback.

Are you are the card is running the correct and most recent driver's? It sounds like you may have the MME drivers selected, that is what it would default to. You may want to check that and run either WDM or ASIO drivers instead of the MME drivers which are an emulated driver for windows. The SB card is probably at the root of the problem but correcting the drivers should slove the issue if it was working before.

Yo NOIZE!!

Thank you SO MUCH!! You have no clue how many times and how many sites I've searched for help on this and no one could help me out!!

You really know your stuff man! I re-installed the drivers I downloaded from the Creative Labs Website, and it still didn't work. So with your posting in mind, knowing that the drivers may be the issue..... I tore up my closet looking for the original CD the unit came with. I found it this morning, installed it.... and YESS!!!!! SUCCESS!!!!

Thanks MAN!! You just saved me a lot of money!! lol.

Good looking out!
GREAT WEBSITE!
I'm cancelling my registrations to those other sites.

No problem at all dude. I ran into the same problem years ago with an SB Live card. It seems Creative Labs driver architecture wont allow you to install the driver revisions without having the original drivers installed first. The card will work but not very well, which appears to have been the case there.

But glad ya got it sorted. And welcome to HRC.
