So I started up this band and I wanna start recording music, not only of mine but why not make some pocket cash and being a recording studio. The only problem is I dont know jack about hwo to do this. My grandmom got me this thing called hitkit which umm sucks! and I don't know what equipment to buy. People say hook up a mixer to you computer but when I record onto a program doesnt it come ut on the same track so its hard to edit? Other people say get a plain recording system but with those it seems you are limited. I play guit and I have a vocalist and a not so steady drummer so I need a drum machine but where do I hook that up when I get one... can anyone help me and give me a lsit of stuff I need for a recording studio?!? Advice is very appreciated. Thanx

Hey there, welcome to HRC.

If you have a look here. www.homerecordingconnection.com/reference.php
There are several faqs that will answer some of the questions you have. Read through a few of them, especially the second one which pertains to the "Where do I start" question. Then you can start posting some questions in regard to what particular gear you should be directing your attention at.

It will be easier for us to help you once you read a few of those and get aquainted with what we need to know to help you.
