amazing room for acoustics, but the pipes are gurggling!

I have this amazing room for recording in, with wonderful acoustics and reverb. The only problem is the University just turned on heating for the winter, and the pipes are gurggling with water (a lot!). Any attempt to record is quite futile now. Is there anything I can do about this? I tried muffling the sound, with some success, but not enough (I just used sheets and furniture).

Thoughts? I need help! :-)

I think in a little time the gurgling should subside. We used to have a parctice space that was heated with radiant heat from water and it was the same. About two weeks of gurgling and all the air was worked out of the system and it got quiet for the most part. Other then EQ, but that will effect the musical frequancies I'm affraid. you wont have a lot of options other then those you have tried. Maybe more insulation wrapped around the pipes.

What university? I work at UI and it's the same sad story here. Noize is correct, it will calm down after the air is worked out...

Try incorporating the gurgles with the piece you're performing. It may require a few takes, but the results could be interesting.

I recommend a Neumann U47 for the pipes.

Well it's good to know that it will probably subside. I can wait a couple of weeks.
