Ok, here's the deal....
I recently got some improved drum samples, and reconstructed my drum tracks, and was going back into sonar to take out the original drum tracks and paste in the new ones. I hit play before editing anything, and there are all kinds of hideous static, pops, and hiss. After about 15 seconds it drops out. I had previously never had a problem with the project, and my other song project file has no problems. Why all of a sudden do I get all this distortion noise and dropouts?

Aug 22, 2006 08:22 pm Have you tried muting the orignal drum track and then playing the new tracks?
Also, have you checked to make sure the new drums track are at the proper sample and bit rate? Thes things can cause problems with playback if not correct. In Sonar 5 this is no longer an issue as you can import files of differant bit and sample rates.
Also one thing to look at is if it is overloading on this particular set of tracks. As in are the levels set to high and overloading the master output buss.
I might suggest trying to load these new drum samples in a completely new file and testing them to see if it is possible they are of low quality or something.
But I would definatly check the sample and git rate.
