Effects ordering

So I'm just curious, are their rules (guidelines) for which order you should run your effects.

Say on my guitars, I want to EQ them a tad for more bottom end chunk and also compress them slighty. So would I run compression on the straight signal and then EQ after so I get it all. Or would I EQ first and then compress as to bring up the freq's I brought out in the EQ. I assume compression first but would love some info or even a good website that expains effects chains.

Also, what would yall run on vox and in what order. What do I do to get that Ampherzan sound? :)

Well you kind of answered your questioin there didnt ya Tripps??

FX chaining not something set in stone. Yes there are some general rules, but experimentation is what gets you the sounds you want.

As for the compresion b4 EQ thing or after. Well you just stated what each preferance will do. So it is a jsut a matter of exactly which one you prefer to have. I will usually compress first for guitar, but it does depend on what I am after.

As for the Ampherzan sound, you might need to ask DragonOrchid that one.

I know we have a couple bits in the forum on some good chaining orders. If I cant find them I will post a couple good ones for you later.
