Hi folks long time no hear I've been busy learning how to record on my set up.I got an sl-880 Fatar midi controller and I have an M-Audio MIdisport UNO 1 in 1 out usb interface I'm trying to figure out how to control my Casio RZ-1 drum machine and have the controller and RZ work together. I've got two outputs on the controller and in/out/thru on the RZ. The Uno has an in/out

Mar 17, 2006 10:15 pm Hey Joel. A question as well here.
Are you looking to control the RZ with the Fatar? If so you can run the one midi out of the Fatar to the RZ, and then the midi thru from the RZ to the Uno.
Do you need the midi out from the RZ to send midi to the PC as well? This will pose a small but solvable problem. Meaning you will need a midi merger device. Unless the RZ can mirror its midi in to the midi out, then you will be OK by simply running the Fatar to the in and the out to the Uno.
Lastly, do you send midi to the RZ from the PC as well. If so then you simply run the midi out from the Uno to the midi in of the RZ.
If any of this is confusing let me know and I'll try to be more explicit if needed.
