Anybody here do Bike Week? It's getting pretty bad...
Friday, two more bikers were killed. So far, a dozen bikers have lost their lives in accidents during Bike Weeks.

Mar 10, 2006 09:37 pm I have not done it in many moons. But yes, Dave Despain was ranting about it on Speed Channel. I am sure he will be really going to town about it tonight on Wind Tunnel, which is his show on Speed.
Honestly I dont know if all the blame goes on others. I have heard a few of the accidents were actually the fault of the biker involved themselves. But having been to Sturgis to many times to mention, I will say I can see how it happens. Although Sturgis now is very good compared to the old days. Most residents are very aware of the bikes around and drive with extreme caution.
But I dont think the same holds true for Bike Week in Daytona. To many careless drivers on both sides. And waaaaaay too much alchohol involved me thinks as well.

Mar 11, 2006 12:53 am in Stugis the residents are very aware and the week goes off with out a hitch most of the time. It's fun and there are not a whole lot of peopel who get hurt durring the time. Over the past few years I think Sturgis has calmed down . ( lived about 45 min from there a few years ago)
