Welcome to HRC!

There are a few fruity users here who should be able to help you out but I'll ask a couple questions to get started here.

Have you selected the 1820 drivers as your input and output audio interface in fruity loops preferances/options?

If not that is the first place to start. As well, are you arming a track or two for recording. You wont hear anything untill both these items have been done.

You have to have the right version of FL 5 to record, the producer version, if i remember correctly. I have the FL studio frooty edition, (99$) and it doesn't let you record.

That could be the issue as well.

I have FL 5, but I don't use it to record per se. When I get ready to multitrack, I dump my FL session data in ProTools, where the drama continues..

I will sometimes run FL as a VSTi inside of n-track.

Put ntrack on main screen, and FL on the other screen, and let ntrack control the Fl instrument.

FL has a pretty good forum section, I'd give that a try. You just have to log in with your purchase info (i think, it's been a while).

Also, they've got a bunch of tutorials in flash on their site, I'd bet one of those would give you the skinny on recording audio.

Go to:
forum.e-officedirect.com/...me=FLStudio_FAQ
and click on the "Flash Tutorials", "How To Record Audio...", see if that doesn't help some.

that flash tutorials helps me a lot, but right now there is another problem, when i play lets say piano on emu 1820 mixer sounds is very clean and nice, but when i play on Fl 5 sound is really bad disturbing, i tried to do mostly anything and i have no clue what's wrong now.

Make sure you switch the device driver inside of FL to asio. I just loaded FL6 on my box using an ESP1010. It sounded ugly after loading because FL was using MME drivers. Very slow compared to ASIO. See if that don't fix the problem. It did mine. I was then listening to the most complex of their sample stuff without problem.

well i did switch devices to asio, but still it doesn't work as is should. There's noise coming from somewhere and sometimes it cuting sound, no idea what's wrong.
