First of all, it he picked it up for free, its very unlikely it will connect to your computer. Unless its automated, and if its is I would be wary of where hes getting this free gear from : ).
If it has direct outs or even inserts, you could use it for extra preamps for your 002 (It only has 4 right?). You could plug your mic into the mixer, and then take the ouput of that and plug it to your 002.
It will never be directly connected to pro tools so it doesn't matter.
