Vocals

My vocal tracks are extremely heavy between 200 and 1k. And they are causing problems with the guitars. If I notch the guitars, I lose their sound quality. The article @ www.homerecordingconnecti...tory&id=154
has the vocal tracks up around 2k and 2.5k. Any suggestions as to how I can get the vocals up there in that range without having them sound like an old cheap radio?

Thanks!

What microphone are you using? If it is a large diaphram condensor check to see if it has a low cut switch. If it does try switching that on and see it that helps.

I tend to boost around 250 (body), and 5k (sparkle/brightness/presence) a little, and I boost with low Q, so it is gentle and fairly wide band boost. perhaps do a very gentle scoop at 1k, and a gentle low cut at the bottom centring around 80-90 ish?
