The Political Blame Game Ticks Me Off

If you are in the US, you have undoubtedly heard the accusations against the Bush admin for knowing about terroristic threat that were executes on 9/11. If you don't live in the US, you may not have.

I just have to rant a little bit, and this seems like as good a place as any. I am personally disgusted (again) by the US political system. I personally feel President Bush has performed admirably in a particularily sensitve time and situation, so now the democrats feel they need to try and get people against him by blaming him for not planning any defensive measures when he supposedly knew the attack was coming.

Now, I am no politician, nor do I ever want to be, but common sense tells me that the Bush admin, as well as any other leaders in the civilized world, probably get threats on a daily basis. Did he know, I dunno, neither do you, none of us do, but even if he did have knowledge something might happen at some time, what the hell is he supposed to do?

It just troubles me that after this horrible tragedy, through which President Bush has stood firm and strong and confident, even emotional at times, people feel the need to start blaming people. Is this productive? Will it bring back our fallen men and women, will it bring back childrens fathers, mothers, brother, sister, aunts, uncles husbands or wives...hell no! So why bother...can't we just move on, lick our wounds, stick together and build a stronger nation.

Things like this will accomplish nothing but divide the country again...and that, my friends, I don't think any of us want.

One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

God Bless America,

and thank you President Bush for strong, unyeilding leadership in very difficult times.

yea ive been less than impressed about this whole democrat trouble-making.

bush knew there was the possibilty of a hijacking around that time.. so he warned the faa to tighten security and to be looking for potential problems. they knew the threat existed and tried to handle it in a quiet fashion.

he did not know that the planes themselves would be used as weapons. no person or government could have seen that coming. its a crazy tactic of religious fanatics [they say they arent crazy.. i disagree].

this two party inhouse fighting is getting damn old. i personally applaud the job bush is doing in office. no way gore couldve done any better.

God help us if Gore would have won that election, that pussy. We would still be sitting and waiting for a "diplomatic resolution" if he was in office instead kick the crap out of those terrorist jacka$$es like we have!

I hate war, but damnit, I love my country more than I hate war, this planet doesn't need people like Osama bin Laden making trouble...

I think you are right db, and its crap that after all we have been through as a country that the politics are still going on. The blame game is only really for stupid people. The people that just go "yeah, that's right" all the time. I'll admit that I didn't vote last election and had I been in the country to vote, I wouldn't have voted for Gore, but I don't think I would ahve voted at all simply because I have not felt that any candidate was something worth voting for. But, that being said, I feel that Bush has done a great job and I AM glad that Gore was not President when this happened. I just don't think he would have had the balls to do what clearly needed to be done. What I think I most admire about the way Bushg handled this was the way that he didn't go be the American "cowboy." He did rally support from the international community, but he didn't give them much of a choice, and that's what being a leader is about if you ask me. He got the support, but I think he flexed enough and made enough of a statement to get it. But in doing so it made everything a lot easier I think. Everyone was backing him and those that may not have and caused a stink were too afraid to say anything because the rest of the world WAS backing it. I may not have intitially thought that Bush was that great, but I ahve gained a level of respect for the amn because in the midst of a tragedy, he's done what I thought needed to be done and in a way that I respect. So, if George is reading this(yeah, right)...Kudos, you earned my vote come election time.
