Hello all! I am very confused at the moment with what I should do with my home setup!!!

I have a Delta 1010 PCI sound card but I can't get a loud enough signal as there are no PreAmps! I was thinking of getting a Mackie Onyx 800R but I can't work out how these two monsters would work together!? Or if they would at all! I'm trying to avoid buying a mixer as I have a Steinberg Houston Mission Controller!

I hope someone can advise me on the best thing to do!

Thanks everyone!!!

First bit of advice, please don't double post.

Secondly, welcome to HRC, that Mackie rig would actually be quite cool, from looking at the specs it seems there are typical line outs from some adapter that must come with it to run off one of the computer-looking cable jacks.

Run mics into the Mackie, then the line outs of the mackie to the ins of the Delta, pretty basic setup.

of course, that is assuming that I read the mackie stuff correctly.

Have u considered a multi channel preamp. With the Houston controller u are set up to do your mixing in the digital world. I'd look for a good 2-4 or evern 8 channel pre. I've got a 24 channel mackie mixer and all I do with it is monitor.
