i searched around, but couldn't find an answer to my question, so here goes...
so i lay down the first track, in this case guitar, but when i go to overdub the 2nd track, the vocals, the track copies the first track as well as the vocals. so i have a track with guitar, and one with vocals and guitar, instead of just vocals. it seems like the output is somehow getting looped back to the input. i tried messing with the different settings, but to no avail.
anyone have any ideas?
thanks.

Sep 15, 2005 12:30 am In the Windows Recording Mixer make sure you have Line-In or Mic selected as the input not "What You Hear" or whatever your soundcard calls that feature.

Sep 15, 2005 06:40 am If that's not it, are you using a mixer for monitoring? Let us know your setup, if the olddog doesn't have it licked (and slimy).

Sep 15, 2005 11:02 am Be sure to unarm your guitar track before you start recording your vox. Audition will not write over top of a track unless it is armed.

Sep 16, 2005 07:12 am Ain't Windows and sound card manufacturers great? So helpful to us all, knowing what we want to record ahead of time and putting them little "helps" buried in their software mixers?... I love it.
