im gonna get a new pc and this old pc il be putting it in my music room.. but im kinda worried if it will be sufficient.. here are the specs

PIII 866
Asus CUV4X mobo
384SDR PC133
SB Live Value Soundcard <-- EWW

do u think that would be fine ?? then the outboard gear would be ..

Behringer UB-2222FXPRO --> Tape Out --> 2 RCA to 3.5mm --> SB Live Value Line In..

what do u guys recommend ? its gonna be my first time recording, the most user friendly proggie out there.. Im thinking Adobe Audition since my uncle has a copy. Cause i used Cool Edit Pro also before.

And im getting the 2222FXpro(is the onboard Compressor sufficient?) cause i might be getting a Delta1010LT when I go to the U.S this summer :)

it's do-able.

a couple notes, that mobo can handle over 1Ghz processors, if you can find one online cheap, it might be worth getting one. It can also handle up to 1.5 GB of RAM. PC133 ram is pretty cheap sometimes now too, that would definately be worth getting...as would a different sound device. M-Audio Audiophile 2496 would do nicely. for another $200 or so you could set it up as a much faster PC.

I wouldn't think about a 1010, I doubt that the computer, as it is right now, could handle 8 analog inputs at a decent resolution very predictably, it may though, kind of a close call.

The onboard compressor in the UB mixers are , imho, total Crap . There's no way to tweak it, and what they set it at sounds overbearing, to say the least . Outboard that piece of gear for sure .

but as of now, i dont have a Delta1010LT

do u think this comp could handle 8 mics from the 2222FX-PRO?? Then TapeOut --> 3.5mm Line in ?

It wouldn't exactly matter because if you go tape out, its still only two channel (left and right).
