I would say "no", but I've never tried... It sounds like an old archtop, single pickup guitar from way back, don't it? Tube amp... I don't think a Les Paul will quite get it either, though it'd get closer. I wonder what the Gibson Blues Hawk sounds like... But check this:

I'll bet you could find an old guitar in a pawn shop and get closer, tho...

Edit: PS: got any more of that? Ya hear that guitar in the background?

I like the sound of it. It sounds like an acoustic, caught in a singing mic (perhaps by accident?).

What kind of guit-box (that's Missouri for guitar-amp rig) have you got now? Can you get close with it? Perhaps someone knows of a guitar sim plug-in that can get close to an old archtop sound?

yea i think i could do that with a plugin or set of effects combined......like eq, reverb, and something to like soften it and cream it up....i don't have anything to do with that track i cut it from the begin of a reggae/nyahbinghi track....

Yeah, I think that is an acoutic, maybe with nylon strings?? If you're looking for a mellow tone like that, I suggest looking into a hollow body Gretsch, Ephiphone, Gibson, or Hofner. I used a large, hollow body Gretsch once on a recording of a Skatalites cover and it had a very nice, mellow tone. More mellow than my Ephiphone.
