Never used the preamp.
Their mics are great, as far as I'm concerned. Their $10 StarPower 1 mic sounds remarkably like a Shure SM58.
Their power amps are less than stellar. They're not stable at 2 ohms (an oddity in professional gear), but they don't tell you this. I burned up one channel of my amp this way, about a month after the warranty ended. I upgraded to a QSC with slightly more punch, and a whole lot more quality.
Their speakers are decidedly average. Not horrid, but definitely not amazing. I plan to upgrade these as soon as I can.
They do seem to make decent low-end stuff. If I were you, though, I'd look into the Behringer ADA8000, simply because Behringer reverse engineers high end equipment and then clones it (albeit with cheaper components). Of course, it costs twice as much as the Nady...
SMPro Audio makes an 8 channel preamp around $100, but I don't know anything about that company. They also make another around $200.
Alesis makes an 8 channel digital mixer with preamps for $300.
Essentially, though, for the price, you really can't go wrong with the Nady.
