Our film opened this weekend and without any advertising we had close to 200 people show up. It went over very well too. Our Narrator was given an audition with a local voice over company to work with them professionaly and I was offered to do the sound for another film by a different group of film makers! I know these are just little victories but they still feel good. Thanks for listening, I just had to share. :)

Jul 12, 2005 01:09 am Thank you guys! It was the HRC that got me interested in taking recording seriously. so I owe a big thanks to you dB, your staff and all of the fine members here. Thank you!
Jul 12, 2005 02:26 am congrats. question, though: what was the purpose of a narrator? i ask because they are generally frowned upon in dramatic film. or comedic film, for that matter. if you pulled it off, why and how did it work?

Jul 12, 2005 03:33 am We got away with it in this case because this was a documentary style comedy or mocumentary. Telling the "story" of the life of a ventriloquist and his dummy. It sounds bland but turned out pretty funny. Lucky for us I was not a writer on this one. :)
Jul 12, 2005 07:19 am Cool...nice one.
And there is a lot to be said for little victories mate...always.
Well done...
