Listen, we get paid nothing for reviews, we only get to use their gear for a while, the guy doing the review has been busy as hell with his paying work, ya know, his JOB, his scout troop he is in charge of and other such activities...so relax, it'll come out when it comes out.

I dunno if you realize this, but this site is nobody's "job" it's a free service that is sponsored by the time of myself and the staff and things get done when we have time...and not before. Nobody makes money from it...therefore it is nobody's first priority.

I don't appreciate the attitude for something we do for free...it gets done when we can get it done.

Well, if you can't understand that the people that VOLUNTEER their time to run this site have other demands at time, like the reviewer of the 1010 still working 60-70 hour weeks, then that's just being selfish, inconsiderate and thankless.

Admittedly it's taking a stupidly long amount of time to get the review done, but jeezuz, the guy is working his fingers to the bone in his real job for almost 3 months now, so give it a rest.

If HRC doesn't meet your needs, I am sure there are plenty of other sites that will drop everything they are doing to help you...

your right.....there are many other sites that I frequent that have better.....and more timely........information exchange. They are also more upfront about their revenue. HRC is not one that merits a frequent visit.....for obvious reasons.

As far as the pro bono..I doubt that very much!!!! How about the compensation for the 1000 hyperlinks to Musicianfriend and elsewhere...give me a break...LOL. Check out the recent review of Guitarport....every other sentance has a hyperlink to sell it.....not to mention the flowery review of a major piece of ****...not one thing wrong with it ehhhhh!. Sounds like someone got compensated to me!

Save your holier then though crap to impress you little cyber friends. Cuz this aint nothin but a site made to attract users for you to GET PAID!!!!

Now.....show me im wrong...REMOVE ALL THE ADs FROM YOUr SITE and come up with a fair and independent product review once in a while.

You know, and this is purely my opinion, I think most of us would simply rather see you removed from this site. Getting angry over not getting something you're not paying for is rather childish, at least about something this inconsequential, after the situation has already been explained. Just my opinion, anyway.

Me thinks rkruz wouldn't "trust" the review anyways. Me also thinks "2 thumbs down, off with his head, boot him outta here...". I come to this site for the neighborliness of the people that frequent it, not to see slander. Me also thinks rkruz needs anger management training and/or diversity training. Most folks don't pop off like a 2 year old over something so insignificant. If he wants a review of the ESI, why doesn't he go get it and do one himself, hmmm? That way, he's sure it's unbiased...

OK, rkruz, if you think the links and crap make a tons of money go ahead, that's fine, you're right...it makes enough to pay for hosting and I likely bring in a whopping $1 dollar an hour for the time I have put into this site over the years. You obviously don't know what you are talking about, but, are perfectly entitled to feel however you want...I can have a billion links on the site, commission only comes in if people click and buy...not sure how familiar you are with internet marketing (obviously not very), but it's not that lucrative at the level of traffic HRC gets. Truth told, some months I do get enough to take my wife out for a nice dinner, or myself and another admin that lives close by (Noize2u) to go out for beers and pizza, but thats about it...as the money also pays for hosting...so a free night out for dinner now and then is the big payoff for me.

Ya know, I had a big long reply defending my reviews and stuff all typed out, but eh, not worth it. Honestly, I am sorry you feel HRC is such a waste of time...but I know everything done here is accurate, my reviews are my honest opinions, and I do it expecting no compensation for it...and I really see no reason I owe you, or anybody, any proof of anything. I do it today for the same reason I started the site, for fun, networking and common interest of home recording musicians...

Unfortunately, when a site gets popular, you have to occassionally deal with crap like this of people thinking I owe them something, or they get insulting and rude. It happens, it's a bummer and it really harshes my buzz, but then, some people just get off on harshing others buzz.

So, with that, I bid you good day, and hope you find the other sites more helpful to you. HRC will continue down the path it has been going which has been successful to this point...and one pissed off person won't change anything. This will continue to be done as a hobby for all people involved...

I didnt say your site was a waste of time, i was just agreeing with you that there are a lot of better sites out there. Especially ones that are up front about there profit making motives. But I do admire your holier then though audacity while the MF ads blink away like a Vega skyline.

Well, thanks for the backhanded admiration.

Would I like to make a lot of profit? Hell YES I would, and I'd deserve it cuz I put tons of time into this site. However, and I am being very honest here, the profit made here is minimal...I don't know exactly what kind of money you think HRC brings in, but I do think you seriously over estimate it. HRC is a business like any other business though, I expect it to pay for itself, which it does, I expect a little bit of compensation for my time, and that's exactly what I get, a little compensation, not that ist is yours or anyone else's business except my own. But it's not direct, it only through sales commissions, so those MF banners will keep on blinking, those banners are the only reason HRC is online...I'll go with little profit from it, but I will not keep doing it and PAY to do it at the same time.

And I would love to know if any other member feels that I have been less than honest about wanting members to click thru site links to MF, Har-Bal and others so HRC can get commission...have I not been 100% honest in my motives there from day 1? I have always plainly stated the reasons...

Beyond that, I really don't see what I do or say that is "holier than thou"...that to me is insulting, and really doesn't make any sense.

Don't bother explaining, I consider this conversation over over, nothing productive will come out of it.

I still don't get why you feel you have to insult me and call me out as some sort of fraud because a review hasn't gotten done fast enough...and, if our reviews are so dishonest and bias, why do you care what we think anyway...as Ie obviously, in your opinion, spread disinformation based around my own selfish motives...which is, I might add entirely untrue.

If you really feel I am dishonest and self-interested, I would kindly ask you to stop coming here, as I don't really like the negativity, or the questioning of my integrity, as I don't feel I am dishonest at all, and am trying to do little beyond build an enjoyable place for home studio owners of all skill levels and budgets ranges to network and share information, and make enough money so it supports itself.

That's been my goal from the beginning, and nothing will ever change that.

Lost for words with all to say.

I know first-hand how much time and effort it takes to run a site like this. I know this because I am a Consultant for a Software company and have been in this business for years. If dB is getting only a dinner or two every once in a while from his ads on this site, hell, that isn't enough. He does it because he enjoys it and if it wasn't for this site and this community, I wouldn't have even gotten into day 3 of recording because I would have given up.

If you think these ads are bad or too much on this site, apparently you haven't been on the internet much. Sites have freaking popups everywhere and some with spyware installing on your PC. And you're complaining about a few ads here? These ads are from companies people here at HRC have done business with and liked, and so they are advertise here. We are helping each other out.

I still don't understand all the negitivity over wanting a review. Apparently you think it's crap here and yet you are wanting more?

Just calm down rkrus and lets start this conversation over....

T-R-O-L-L

Don't pay any attention to this twit dB, if he was that concerned about reading a review he would have used google and found a dozen as I just did.

Unfortunately you are correct, some people only take pleasure from dumping on others.

could you post the dozen reviews here you found on Google? I only found one review of the ESI1010..which I posted a reference to on this forum. Maybe you saw the same review a dozen times?

Could you be....well....overexaggerating?

I just spoke with Noize2u, who is taking a couple days at his cabin (first days off in weeks, only cuz of a holiday) we is hoping to have it done and approved by the end of the week.

I am admittedly sceptical, but that's what he said.

presley, dial it back a bit please.

end of thread.
