Wave editing in Sonor

Anyone know how to edit wave files in Sonor? The old versions of Cakewalk all you had to do was double click a wave file and edit. Can you do this in Sonor 2, or do you need external software?

Are we talking about the same thing?
I want to edit a wave already in Sonor not import a new one. For example there is a small clip that has some noise on it, and I want to isolate it and erase the offending data. In the old versions of cakewalk you could just double click and use erase, but in 2.0 I can't seem to edit anything.
Thanks,
Michael

hmm yeah it seems like you're used to doubble clicking wav files and havin' cakewalk set as the default applacation to open it.

are you mixing a song in sonar? or just making small tweaks to audio files? i don't know how to isolate noize and get rid of it in sonar.

what kinda noize is it?

Yeah it's just a little "click" off of a sound byte.
I have a couple of wave editors and was able to remove it in there, but It would save so much time to be able to do it in Cakewalk like the old days.

I seem to remember reading about this somewhere. I think the Sonor people said the option is still there, but there is a weird way to get to it.

I think all yer refering to here is to edit a wav ye have recorded. Have you tried right clicking the wav form and look for an edit option?

I use Cubase and I double click the wav as ye say to edit/etc but if that doesny work, there is BOUND to be another way in.

Adobe Audition has something that can seperate sounds by their "frequencie signature" which is good for background noize and what not...and i know Pro Tools lets you accually pencil over the wavform to remove a click or pop....but i'll be darned if i don't know how do do it in sonar...

Isn't that wierd?
It seems like it's a needed feature. You should be able to erase part of a wave if you need to. What if there is some noise at the begining of a take. I know there is a way to do it.

OH i can take out a part, as in section, of a wave file, and drag and crossfade it to get rid of a very brief sound...that's not hard at all.

is this what you need to do? just get rid of one click or pop? is it a music clip or some other kinda audio? infact the more specific about the meterial you're workin' and the sound of the problem area, i can prolly step you through fixing, it....
