May 23, 2005 12:38 am welcome to HRC!!!
that's a pretty veague (sp?) question, when you say nothing, are you talkin' about no sound is comming out when you press play? or does it not even show the wave in the program?
i gotta say i'm not fimillar with that software, but it's a pretty basic problem that shouldn't be hard to fix.
cheers

May 23, 2005 02:55 am Thanks for the welcome! That's right no sound at all........and it does show the wave.
Thx,
AF
May 23, 2005 06:38 am I am not familiar with the application myself. Actually, I thought TRacks was a plugin, not an application of it's own.
My first thought would be checking hardware preferences, make sure it has the proper sound device chosen in to use. Make sure the speakers from that device are powered on and that the cables to the speakers are good, you know, all that basic stuff.
May 23, 2005 11:09 am also check your soundcard options....'volume control' for stock cards.

May 23, 2005 02:28 pm T-Racks 24 Mastering is a stand alone program. Everything checks out as far as connections. I did noticed that when I try to open a file with the software it defaults to wav file but, to view file I want to work with I have to click the drop down menu to view all files. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but, shouldn't all the files be a wav? I checked the property of the file and it shows that it's a cda. extension. I even put in a regular cd and it shows the same thing (cda). I'm confused now!!
Thanks 2 all for the help!!
AF
May 23, 2005 02:43 pm If its a cda its probably the 1k cd track file rather than the wav file itself which isnt what you need.
You'll need to rip the wav's from the CD and then import to the app.
Any app like Nero, easy cd creator or similar will do it. As will www.dbpoweramp.com - this !
Cheers

May 23, 2005 03:48 pm yep, you are not opening a .wav file.....you need to rip the audio to .wav if you're importing audio that's already on an audio cd.

Aug 18, 2008 11:49 pm There are quite a few types of chunks defined for Wave files. Many Wave files contain only two of them, specifically the Format Chunk and the Data Chunk. These are the two chunks needed to describe the format of the digital audio samples and the samples themselves. Although it is not required by the official Wave file specification, it is good practice to place the Format Chunk before the Data Chunk. Many programs expect the chunks to be stored in this order and it is more sensible when streaming digital audio from a slow, linear source such as the Internet. If the format were to come after the data, all of the data and then the format would have to be streamed before playback could start correctly.

Aug 19, 2008 12:52 am I've seen this happen before though - Contact customer service for a patch if it doesn't stop (of course, when opening an actual .wav file).
