Hello all,
Well, I guess I'm not really new (been hanging around for a couple months) but I thought I would introduce myself anyways.
I've been playing guitar for about 2 years now and got into home recording as a way to track my progress as a player. Now I'm addicted to recording and must try to find a way to balance my time between playing and recording. So much to learn, so little time.
Anyways, since this site (and it's members) are so awesome, I decided to upgrade my membership as a token of appreciation for everyone's efforts. As you know, membership allows you to upload songs etc., so I decided to upload our latest song in the making. This tune is incomplete but I thought it might make a great reference point for me to look back on later. Were are hoping to complete this tune within the next month or so.... mostly depends on time permitting.

Anyways, thanks for the great site and I look forward to getting to know you all better.

May 16, 2005 01:58 pm Hey Lonnie,
Glad to see you joining the Pro side of things around here. You're right, the people around here are great, and their advice is priceless.
I'll check out your tune as soon as I get a chance!

May 16, 2005 02:19 pm I had a listen and I like the tune itself. The pads sound good...the actual song is good itself.
Guitars sound quite good too and the lead solo is nice.
The drums need some boosting in the mix especially the snare I thinks...but overall, a nice tune and good geetarin...
Good effort man..I likes it.
Coco.

May 16, 2005 03:01 pm Thanks Coco/Jim,
I'm probably not going to be messing with this recording as we are going to be doing it completely over again.
We're thinking of changing the distorted guitar intro to an acoustic intro and adding the dist guitar later. It would also sound good to wind down the lead and return back to acoustic for when the lyrics kick in (at least that is what I hear in my head - lol).
This was recorded using my Soundblaster card and I have since purchased two Delta cards so I can finally track all at once and hopefully you all will hear the new and improved version in the next month or so.
Coco - I got some great drum tips in another thread and I'm looking forward to implementing them. This should take care of the drum weakness in the mix.

May 18, 2005 08:04 pm Welcome to the HRC, and nice start on the song man. I dig the guitar sounds that you have going. The HRC is definately a very cool place to find lots of info about recording when you are looking for answers. These guys have bailed me out countless times in the past. :) Goodluck with everything
