Audition troubles

Just recently when recording in Audition the sound became VERY low quality. I have a decent Condensor and when i run it through my preamp, and into Audition it sounds very Home-Studio (You know that sound, the whole "Sounds like its on a computer mic" sound). I then tried it in my old Cool Edit Pro 2.0, and it sounded good. So obviously it's some sort of setting on Audition that got fudged up. Problem is, i have no idea what happened seeing i never mess with the settings anyways. Anyone have any ideas?

check audio options and make sure you're recording at 16 bit 44.1khz sample rate or higher...

One more note, even the Metronome sounds bad. It's like any sounds within the program are bad.

I used to have similar to the same problem. It seems like it could be the actual computer (i.e. not fast enough). Has it just started to do this or have u had it working well before?

Actually it turns out the program was running on some weird khz rate, i just had to open a brand new one and apply the 44.1 setting
