midi question

ok well i am getting my keyboard (yamaha psr282) soon its one my aunt giving me as a gift...i know its just those kinda of keyboards but anyway..... i buying the audiophile 2496 one time.....ok and all i want to do is just use the keyboard as a controller for my virtual instruments.....will i need too get 2 midi cables for in and out or will it do with just 1 cable for in?

if you just want it to be a controller, just an out from your keyboard to the in on your sound card would be enough...

The only reason you might need a second cable to the midi in on the PSR is if there is no way to trun Local Control off right on the keyboard itself. Then you would need to get a second cable to the midi in so that your software recording app can send it a local control off message.
