One day im playing and all of a sudden my marshall 30 watt just dies on me. THe red lights still on and it makes no sound whatsoever. THe speaker connections are still good but i dunno. This sucks!

Apr 06, 2005 11:25 pm Check to see if the fuse is blown first off. If it is a tube amp, then start checking the tubes. Or for loose wires and such. If you can see the cirquit card, start checking for burned out looking componants.

Apr 11, 2005 01:32 pm the guitarist in my band has a 50W valvestate avt. he's been having the EXACT same thing happening. his problem was that the tubes were getting too hot (they werent blown). he just put a fan on the top and it solved the problem. it looks a little takky but it works.
the band made a desicion that no one was allowed to buy marshalls. i forget which carvin cab it is but it has the same speakers that marshall used in the 70s (which sounded the best) and they are selling it for a couple hundred less then marshall. i think peavey, crate, and fenders give the best sound without crapping out.
