OPENING ACID 4.0 INTO 3.0

Does anybody know if files generated in Acid 4.0 should open in 3.0? If not, is there a way to convert to an older version when saving?
I'm doing a project with a friend 5.000 miles away, him using Acid 4, and me using 3.
Please help!

typically, no, files made in newer versions of software will not open in older as the files have instruction code and such that the older one doesn't understand.

Agreed, I dont think Acid is backword compatible. You can take a look at the SaveAs options when you go to save a file. If there is going to be any choice to save it in an older format it will be there.

Yes, that's what I was affraid of. I couldn't find a SAVE AS OLDER VERSION option, or anything on that topic, not even in manuals and tutorials.
Looks like I'll have to upgrade my system. Thanks for you help!
