yet another setback.

I had my computer all together about 2 weeks ago, ran for about half an hr before shutting down. After that, everytime I started it, it would run for about 5 seconds and shut down. We tried a new power supply, new hard drive, new everything. Finally, I boxed up the motherboard and processor and sent them back. Yesterday (after a 2 week wait) I finally got my new motherboard processor. DOA. I ordered a new motherboard and processor last night, and forked out some extra money for them to be installed and tested before shipping. This is getting VERY frustrating.

Just needed to vent.

Had that happen before. Now I always pay them to test before shipping. Worth the money for sure. Good luck.

That's one thing that sucks about buying over the internet. You can't go back to the store and give a clerk the stink eye.

I built my parents a computer a year ago and the HDD crashed recently. They just bought a new Dell and gave me their old one. Turns out the IDE channel on it is a HDD-eating monster (2 HDDs and 1 stick of memory later, I realize this). There's nothing like spending a month ordering, receiving, returning and waiting for mail-order computer parts. I feel your pain!

UPDATE: according to FEDEX tracking... my new motherboard CPU combo will be arriving tomorrow. FINALLY!!! and I payed the extra few bucks to have these tested before shipping. So, there shouldnt be any more setbacks that I forsee in the near future.

Lost for words with all to say.

I hate getting DOA, I won't to punch someone in the eye when I get one.

I agree with always getting it tested. The place where I get my parts for my clients test them for me. It's worth the extra money because normally a client doesn't understand why they have to wait a week or more because it didn't work.
