My BR532 manual says I can use a cd recorder instead of the whole software, wave file thing on the computer. When I hook the BR532 up to my cd recorder, there is no sound. But when I hook my BR532 up to my dvd player, all the tracks and percussion comes out of the dvd recievers' speakers.I do this as an alternative to hearing my tracks.I hook the BR532 up to the cd recorder the same way{I even tried the optical wire),and there is no sound, please help.

hi, i have the BR864 and im no expert, but i might be able to help. I would think you could just run you 532 to a line in on your receiver and have your cd recorder hooked up to the receiver and record from that? i have my 864 running to my receiver, just for practicing.

No.Thanks though.Maybe the cd recorder isn't meant to receive sound from an outer source because even when I play a cd in my dvd player, the cd recorder does not pick up the sound. But the dvd receiver picks up the sound from the BR532,all the tracks and the percussion. My cd recorder has input/output holes and an optical. When I put a cd in the cd recorder,it plays,I hear it.If you or anyone else can tell me how to put these songs of mine on disc, using the cd recorder instead of my computer,I would be so happy.Thank you for replying xtc.

Go optical.

Monitor through the headphones on the BR532 (I know the headphone amp on the BR532 sucks, but it'll get you through the recording onto CD ok). Then play back from the CD recorder.

BR532 > CD Recorder - And play your 4 tracks + rhythm

Then go from the output on the CD recorder to whatever amp you have for your speakers/hi-fi.

or hook up a pair of powered monitors :), i dont think a cd recorder will let you monitor, its just not possible, the outs on the cd recorder will output whats played on a cd.

yeah and the headphone amp on the 864 is lame too. what up with that.?

It was dB-wan who pointed it out to me. I couldn't work out why my mix sounded so rubbish. I now use the BR532 for rhythms and some COSM effects only, as a supplement to my PC, and monitor elsewhere.

the headphone amps on those boss products simply don't work. it's a shame they ship like that.

Okay, this is where I am at now.
I have the optical wire going from the br532 to the cd recorder. There is no sound unless I hit record on the cd recorder. Now I have all 4 tracks and the percussion coming through the cd recorder. The only problem now is that the "rec" light is flashing on the cd recorder but not recording,it just flashes off and on and the track timer stays at 00:00 and won't move.I hit pause and play and it remains at 00:00 with the "rec" flashing. But,the good news is I have sound now through the cd recorder, thanks! If I get a song finally on a disc I will let you know.Unless someone can tell me a next step.
