are you using a midi synth? VSTi or DXi? midi is not audio, it just triggers audio from another source, ya gotta route the midi track to some kinda sound device.

So what sound device do you think i should route it to??

Its just my keyboard, playing through midi. Ive tried putting the drum synth on it. It seemed to work, but no sound again.

I'm not sure if this is your problem but you may need to load a VST instrument and then set that as your output on the MIDI track.

i think you are confusing midi with analog. your piano should have analog 1/4" outs.. just record those rather than midi. midi requires a sound module (something to trigger), either in your keyboard or in your computer.

nah, here ya go, go to insert > vst or dxi synth (it'll insert two tracks, one midi, one audio, then route your midi out of your keyboard to the midi channel of your v-instrument
record the midi (not audio)...

they aren't plugins, they are virtual instruments.
