Hi,
I`m having crackling/noise problems in my left monitor every time I alter the volume control on my Soundcraft Mixer. It`s definately the knob on the mixer thats dodgy...I tested the monitors seperately etc to check this.
Anyway, I guess I have to get inside the mixer somehow and put some contact cleaner on the relative pot?! Is this the best/only way to cure a noisey control knob?
Thanks alot.

Feb 18, 2005 07:29 pm Yeah, I have, at times, had simple contact cleaner being sprayed on the knob, twist the knob a few times, clean it up. But that was back in the day when it was mostly metal parts n' stuff. You have to be sure of what the knob is made of, cuz contact cleaner can destroy some materials...

Feb 18, 2005 07:56 pm okay, thanks for the quick replies!
Hmmm, not sure whether to risk it or not. Can it destroy plastic do you think?...I have no idea whats under the knob...I assumed it would just be a plastic knob with a metal pot. What would you suggest I do?
Thanks again.

*still check though*
