Weird Question . . .

Scenario: you punch in a guitar part, then you zoom all the way in on that wave at the point of the punch. The wave prior to the punch does not match up with the newly recorded wave.

Question: Is there a way to grab one of the waves and pull it to meet the other? I am almost positive I have seen this done before.

Sorry if this is confusing . . .

sweet! you can grab the entire clip and line it up all you gotta do is click and drag it, what i do is put it on it's own seperate audio track first and position it down there, set the cross fade just right so when they play together it's seemless, then i put the punched track in the same "lane" as the original...make sure when you pull it up and down, the grid lock is on, so that way if you move your mouse a bit left or right it dosn't move the track left or right...

peace

Does the x-fade always work seamlessly, though? My learning has me remembering that if you don't connect at a zero crossing you can get pops or clicks. Just checking. Thanks, AR

you can edit the crossfade to do what ever you want...i think it's called clip envelopes or something....just hover the mouse over the upper corners of the clip then it'll turn into a triangle and you click and drag the envelope...then you can right click the envelope and change the shape....totally smooth

my experience is that SONAR 2.2xl cuts at 0 crossings but throws in a heafty DC offset :) more reliable for me to just zoom on a move the envelope
