Feb 05, 2005 07:58 am Nice song, I like the song itself, the recording is pretty good, I like the sound of the acoustic guitar, but I think the drums are a little loud, at least that snare is. curing the quiter guitar parts the snare is scary loud, during the louder strumming parts it's a bit more drown out which is good.
FYI about getting critiques, people that are brand new to the site sometimes have a hard time getting direct critiques cuz nobody knows you, I have actually considered implementing a rules that you need x-amount of posts before asking for one to avoid that, but it would be a PITA to enforce, so I haven't. I just want to prevent people from coming here once to get a critique and then never come back...as personal critiques are considered more of a "community" thing than simple Q/A. Q/A helps people get to know a person...

Feb 05, 2005 03:00 pm Nice soft easy listening tune. Really nice job on the vocals, and guitars. Recording sounds pretty good to me. On my speakers everything seems about the right level, the mix is pleasing. Overall a really nice tune when your in the mood for soft & easy. :)

Feb 06, 2005 12:11 am Have to agree with the others definately nice guitar sound.
No worries with the mix, sounds great. although i can't hear a bass? maybe there isnt one, if there is - it's too low.
Very cruisy tune, i't cool.

Feb 06, 2005 04:29 pm There is a bass but it was probably too low. I increased its volume. Hopefully it's hearable now.
And thanks for comments. More comments are welcome :)
Feb 06, 2005 04:30 pm I heard the bass here and there, but not consistently, you may want to compress it a little to even it out...

Feb 06, 2005 05:03 pm OK I compressed it even more. Better now?
Feb 06, 2005 05:22 pm My comment was based on my first listen, I haven't heard it since...

Feb 06, 2005 09:04 pm like the song very much. my tip would be about the reverb. This song has an intimist atmosphere but too much reverb makes the vocals sound a little cold. try using much less reverb and use a warmer one, with less hi-freq response.
well, this are my thoughts. keep up the good work.

Feb 15, 2005 09:56 pm Roni, I think ya got it down now. Just had a listen tonight and it sounds pretty good. I like the snare at the level its at now. As for the reverb on the vox, it sound pretty good, but as Bruno pointed out it could be just a tad warmer, although it did seem to fit as long as it was in the louder part of the mix. The bass sounds good now, it does come and go but I think it adds some feel to the tune itself.
Over all its a very flowing easy to listen to song. I liked the lead break around 3:55, very haunting along with the melody of the tune.
Nice work.
Feb 18, 2005 10:25 am This is real pretty...very haunting...
The recording sounds real good...bass is there...I'd probably do it a tad louder...but I tend to keep the bass up a bit...my preference.
The guitar is recorded beautifully...what is recording setup?
Nice harmonies...drums are fine in my opinion.
and the guitar solo fit the song perfectly.
Nice job...you should be proud!

Feb 19, 2005 08:22 am The acoustic guitars(6- and 12-string) and the vocals have been recorded with a Behringer B-1 condensator mic.
Electric guitar through a Boss ME-50 pedal
It's been recorded in my home. It would be great to be able to record in a studio some day :)
