Quote:
In the mid-1990s, two breweries released their own "Duff Beer" in Australia until legal action by the creators of The Simpsons and the Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. took the beer off the market. Fox has a policy of refusing to license The Simpson's merchandising for products that would be detrimental to children

and this because the simpsons is such a great family oriented show?!?! dont get me wrong i love the show but its really not a kids show IMO.

I dunno, me and my girls watch it, it pisses my wife off sometimes, but it's funny. As long as we are clear on whats acceptable behavior and whats not from THEM, I have no problem.

But I can surely see where some people would frown on that. Then again, we watch Spongebob too, and according to some stupid radical Christian conservative group, he's promoting homosexuality...

the simpons had a great run, i love watching the re-runs and still watch all the new episodes, but for me its been losing alot steam in the past 2 seasons and i wonder what the future holds?

my 5 yr old daughter loves spongebob, she tries to watch the simpsons with me, but most of the
jokes go right over her head.

im realy excited about the new Family Guy episodes, glad they brought it back!!

also really getting into drawn together, now that show pushes some limits :)

The Family Guy offends me, I can't watch it. Drawn together cracks me up tho on the rare occassion I watch it.

its kind of funny but i really only watch cartoons anymore: fairly odd parents, futurama, king of the hill, southpark, simpsons, family guy, spongebob. i cant get into any of the sitcoms these days, now if they would only bring back "The Tick" my life would be complete!

I agree, I find myself following the very same pattern. We had recorded a whole bunch of futurama and family guy onto our DVR recorder. I don't watch any real sitcoms anymore (except maybe surreal life once in a while).

Yeah, I heard about something like that, though I though it happened in the US.

Anyways, I love Cartoons, and not just the ones that are aimed towards adults. I'm talking Yugioh, Justice League Unlimited, Kids next door, some anime, all that stuff. Family Guy is hilarious to me, but in no way should it be on during prime time. It is way too obscene. It boarders on Chapelle show obscene (which is also hilarious). Simpsons is sesame street compared to Family Guy.

dB... how does family guy offend you?

I haven't seen the show in a while but I'm having a hard time thinking of anything seriously offensive about that show...

I just find that kid so utterly horrible, mean and nasty I just can't watch it. There is a "kids cartoon" called Calou (sp?) that is meant for kids, but the kid the show is named after is the most disrespectful, whiny little ****, I had to stop letting my kids watch it...I kinda pout the family guy in that same category.

Plus, the humor in family guy I just bnever found that funny.

"Offensive" might be a bit strong...stupid would be a better word.
