I don't post here much, but I read every day (in fact I may be here a little tooo much..hehe) Anyway, thanks to this site I got into computer based home recording and am just now getting the hang of it. I have just posted a rough instrumental mix of one of 4 songs that are going to be on my demo. I am recording the vocals in the next couple of weeks. But for now I am looking for opinions and constructive critisism of ALL types.

Jan 27, 2005 06:20 pm I'm going to try again later! for some reason the DL was slow as. was going to take me about 3 hours to get it.
But i will get it :)
Jan 27, 2005 07:04 pm Yeah, download.com is being dead slow today. Hopefully they are just having temporary troubles. If they keep going I think it will be a kickass music site (they already are for programs!!!)
Later,

Jan 27, 2005 10:18 pm Quite Metal . heh
There's some pretty original sounding stuff going on, within a very rigid rhythm structure . Cool solos, and evertything's on top...
... S'good stuff, man ! Maybe bring the bass guitar up a bit ?
Likin' the brick wall at 2:19 .
How'dya do the guitar ? Good metal tone .
Jan 29, 2005 11:47 am Thanks Hue!! I know there aren't many metal fans on this site, but definatly a good deal of top notch musicians, so all comments are welcome.
I intend to bring the bass guitar up a bit as well as give it a good eq and mastering (this is basically just a pre-master.)
The guitars are actually the V-AMP pro. There are 4 rhythm guitars; 2 panned hard left, 2 hard right. The two main guitars have the same eq(hard left/hard right) and the two "harmony" rhythms have a slightly lower volume and different eq(hard left/hard right). That is about it.

Jan 29, 2005 07:09 pm See thats someone esle talkihg about V-amp's to Hue! He'll go crazy till he gets one i think.
Sorry about the late reply chaos! This song is certainly rocks. i have't listen to metal this hard for years.
This is certainly one of the better metal song's i've heard in a long time. I love when it goes slower too - works really well in the song.
The Bass drum is hit how many times? :)

Feb 07, 2005 04:32 pm Well I gotta agree the guitars dont sound too bad at all. I like the lead guitar parts for sure. Not a huge fan of this genre to be honest, but I like it when its done well, and you have done that for sure. I too would like to hear the bass with bit more punch to bring it out in the mix a bit.
I would honestly like to hear it with the second guitars not panned hard left and right. It might help fill the sonic picture a bit better. With both sets of guitars panned hard left and right they tend to be fighting a bit for the space, and that might be contributing to the bass not sounding punchy enough as well.

Feb 22, 2005 03:44 am great guitar playing man. the riffs were interesting and you had that real heavy sound without it being abrasive.

Mar 29, 2005 01:37 pm I know I'm a month or two late but i just noticed this. Probably the only thing here like what I record.
Guitars have awesome sound and tone but could be a little more lively sounding. The bass could be compressed and go up a little. The solos are a little loud.
I hate the synth/triggered drum sound. The drums parts themselves are really good.
Mar 30, 2005 12:36 pm wow! this totally sounds like you got the black metal sound you were shootin' for...i don't listen to alotta this stuff, but i have quite a few friends who do. i'd hafta A/B this with some of that stuff to really notice anything that dosn't sound "right"....the drums are a bit quiet...other than that it sounds good.
did he just say "let's make ****?"

Apr 01, 2005 06:08 am Hi
I listened to the first song. Guitars are nice, but vocal imho should be spreaded much more, it sounds to much alone in the forest of guitars, I think delays and reverbs can help here. And I do not hear a snare, but maybe the song sounds even more interesting without it.

Apr 09, 2005 12:28 am METAL! :D
woop woop.. metalmetal.. :D
I likes it on the whole, however you need to get a brighter sound, specially on the vox and drums.
I personally would mix up the tempos a bit more, but that's just me (I like stuff spastic).
More blastbeats, tom fills and doublekicking!
Needs more.. movement, Scarve style.
And hoorah for the v-amp! go go metal go! Sounds like the Modern High Gain setting... could do with a bit more very high highs in the EQ.
