if i run my line out from two different sound cards, any computer for that matter, to my surround sound unit as rca audio inputs, i get a hum as feedback i guess u could say. i am guessing this is because its a digital signal thats not getting converted to analog... am i right? and is there a cheap way to combat this?

to let you know, i ahve a home theater 5.1 surround sound system i would like to use a monitors if possible.

I am guessing just the cheap, thin wire that may have came with the unit, possible running parallel with some power cables or something...

Do you mean that you're plugging 2 sound cards into 1 pair of monitors at the same time, and this causes hum in your monitors?

Or do you mean that you've tried 2 different sound cards and both of them cause your monitors to hum?
