Jan 12, 2005 08:16 am In a typical home/project studio situation I would definately recommend Sonar over ProTools with NO hesitation.
It allows you to choose your own sound device, which ProTools forces you to use DigiDesign hardware, Sonar also support DirectX and VST plugins and virtual instruments which ProTools does not (maybe VST, I forget) and requires you use their standard of plugins, and they are VERY expensive...

Jan 13, 2005 11:13 pm It did, but it is being bugged out so to speak. I am on the beta team for the latest update, and there were actually several bugs that are being fixxed in the adapter. But they really only effected people like me who wrap a large quantity of VST's some of them coming from unstable backrounds to begin with.
For the most part the adapter is very stable. And as well even in Sonar 3 if you updated you will have the same adapter that 4 has.
But Sonar 4 is a large upgrade from 3. Plenty of new goodies, and more stable goodies at that.
