Monitor problems with M-Audio/Sonar/Audigy combination

I have this setup:

M-Audio Delta66 with Omni-IO
Creative Audigy2 ZS
Cakewalk Sonar Producer 4

I'm using the analog inputs of the Omni-IO for guitars/mics and want to know how to set things up to use the Audigy as a monitor AFTER effects are placed in Sonar. I have pulled out my hair attempting this. Since my 5.1 speakers are hooked up to the Audigy,I need to run the final audio through them and I thought that using the aux inputs on the front of the Audigy breakout box would be fine (since I couldn't get internal patching/mixing to work) but I can't figure out which outputs on the Omni-IO to use. I need some help, cause I'm about ready to give up. Any input is helpful..

You have to make your master output a surround bus, and then, in the audio preferences set up all the outputs for the surround bus.

Read the Sonar manual, it steps you thru it.

um, if you're using windows and specifically xp, you can set this up in your control panel. Set your delta 66 as your recording card, and your Audigy as your output card.

um, also wondering if this is for during recording, or during mixing?

I am attempting this setup for mixing. So I should go into my XP Control Panel and to Sound and Audio Choose the Audio tab then make the Audigy the playback and the Delta the record. OK.. That should help.. But still in Sonar, should I have all of my recording tracks in the top half output to Master then have Master (on the bottom half) output to Audigy? Should this allow me to add FX to my recording tracks and monitor the effect realtime? Thanks a bunch for the steps in the right direction...!

What you have set in the operating system is moot while you are in Sonar, it will listen to it's own configuration. In the audio preferences enable all your in and outs.

Then, in the track, send them all to a surround bus, then in the surround preferences set up the surround format your want to use (5.1) and the apropriate outs for all your surround channels.

The manual gives a pretty good explination of setting up the surround bus. It's more difficult than a simple stereo out, but it's not too tricky.
