Hello all. One day last week, my soundcard decided not to power up. Tech support seems to think that I have a blown fuse. They are sending me out some more fuses since Radio Shack doesn't carry it. In trying to open the soundcard I stripped one of the screws and now cannot get the unit opened. Anybody know how to unscrew a stripped screw?
Although this is not a recording question, I had to ask because I have tried everything and I'm desperate.
Thanks

Jan 10, 2005 11:04 am There are little devices at home improvement stores that try to latch on to whatever is left of the screw and get it out...I have never tried them on anything as delicate as a piece of electronics tho...

Jan 10, 2005 11:23 am Sears... it is called an "Easy Out"
This is not the exact product you are looking for, as this is automotive, but it will give you the idea.

on another note... i am sure this goes without saying but, once you get the screw out, you can not put it back in. You will have to go to a computer store to buy a new one if you dont have one kicking around.
