Sry to bother you all, but i am in need of help decicing what to purchase. I only have enough at the moment to buy a Juli@ card or a UB1622FX. I have like 275 bucks. I know you guys probably get alot of questions like these, but i was wondering if anyone could give suggestions on which to buy...oh, i have a soundblaster audigy 2.(if that helps any...)

Jan 02, 2005 12:47 am Personally as long the SB has enough inputs for you I'd go for the mixer. :)

Jan 02, 2005 01:20 am Well, I would wonder first, what are you recording/planning on recording?

Jan 02, 2005 03:51 pm Ya, agree with coolo there as well. Depending on what exactly you are looking to record, and the quality. That would be what would determin what I would purchase first.
But as OD stated, if you are satisfied with the Audigy for now, the mixer will give you a bit more versatility and then you can add the Juli@ when you get enough cash again.
Jan 02, 2005 06:31 pm wow, i am so lucky. My brother said hed go into helping me buy stuff. So now my budget is about 500 bucks. I have nothing, except for a really good computer and the soundblaster card. i do however have a shure 8800. I am going to be recording the bass amp, guitar amp, and vox. If i can get by without the Juli@, then i plan on getting a UB1622, a Rode NT1A, and a Sannheiser E609. It comes out to about 480 bucks.
Jan 02, 2005 06:36 pm Well, your goals seem misguided a bit. You have an OK mic, but, rather than invest in a decent sound card to capture the mics, you would rather buy 2 more mics and still run them through a substandard sound card? That seems odd, You can go spend $4000 on a mic if you want, if you are gonna record it with a SoundBlaster your final product will still be limited by that. I would suggest maybe get one of those mics and get the [email protected] a collection of mics is kinda premature if you don't yet have a good sound card with which to record them.
Jan 02, 2005 06:38 pm I see. Should i maybe skip the sennheisner for now and then get the julia card? Cuz the shure i have is a dynamic mic.
Jan 02, 2005 06:40 pm I have only used dynamics except for a couple times, they can work just fine.
Jan 02, 2005 06:47 pm alright, thanks dB. I am real excited about starting my home studio.
Just curious, but i was wondering if in the future you plan on putting a search bar in the site? I was just thinking it might be help with people not asking questions over and over again. They could just look up theyre question.
Jan 02, 2005 07:05 pm Most sections have a search bar at the top of it to search that area of the site, and we have a page which can search most of the sections as well...I think our search feature is pretty well covered personally...
Jan 02, 2005 07:08 pm Sry...Damn im stupid, it was right in front of my face! well thanks again
