ok i'm a tad bit confused... i'm mixing in Sonar 3 and durring the mix the Main levels are nice and hot (-12db RMS and -1db Peak) but my outboard mixer is reading a steady -16db from it's Tape In the whole time...now my first thought was that maybe my soundcard is running at -10db (consumer)instead of +4db (pro), but when a play normal audio cd's my meters are all showing nice hot levels on my mixer again....so I hafta compress the whole mix again after i mix it down!...urg any help would be greatly appreciated

thanx

Well you might want to check the level of your master buss output in Sonar. Or the output control of the sound card itself. The tape in is not exactly the bus I would use for monitering my mix coming out of the PC either. I normally feed 2 channels or more on my mixer and I dont have any problems with either Sonar 3 or 4 giving me weak output signal.
